Toro Toro LLC is the publisher of Renzy and the owner of this website, its domain, and the studio's accounts on the app stores.
What I make
I am a programmer. I design and build the game myself, pose its animation by hand, and direct its art and sound, using a mix of tools along the way. Toro Toro is deliberately small. That is what lets Renzy's timing be tuned by hand against real players, and its look be decided by one person with one idea of how it should feel.
The first game is Renzy, a left and right timing game for iOS and Android, currently in development.
How I work
- Feel comes first. Renzy was prototyped in a browser until the timing was right, then rebuilt in Unity and tested side by side on a phone against the prototype until the two felt the same. Nothing was layered on top until that passed.
- Numbers over opinions. Difficulty is tuned from recorded playtest runs: who died, to what, on which side, and how fast. Players of very different ages and experience have tried it.
- Respect for the player. No accounts, no tracking of your play, nothing between a death and the next attempt. Renzy stores your records on your own device. The privacy policy says exactly what is and is not collected.
- In the open. Progress is written up in the devlog, including what does not work yet.
